but I miss spinning and group workouts! There’s one right downstairs from my apt…so I’m going to go look into a membership today. I wonder how much you can negotiate with these people… ?!

I attended college and now grad school across the country from my parents. This means that every year, I spend less and less time at home and away on my own. So while I’ve been getting fit and living a healthier lifestyle…my parents have become stuck in their old ways by not walking or getting regular exercise and not eating the way that they should. When I come home, sometimes I fall into the old pattern and I’ll pick up a pound or two in just a short visit.
This Christmas vacation, I’ve decided to fight back. My mom said she was interested in Zumba dance classes so my sister and I purchased “Just Dance” and “Gold’s Gyms Dance workout” for my mom on the Wii. My sister has given my parents her Wii on extended loan.
My mom loves it.
Now… to work on my Dad. After 5 consecutive days of pestering, I finally got him to do a few Wii Fit drills with me. I walked him through the program and each of them. He can no longer touch his toes and had not realized it. He also didn’t know how out of shape he is.
I want my family to be happy and healthy. I’m glad that I’m going out of my way to learn these skills now so that my children can further improve upon them. Its a long hard road to become fit, but I think the more people you take along with you the better.

I’ve decided about three times to come back from my tumblr break. Everytime I write a post though I like freakout and delete it….

Taking a bit of a tumblr hiatus to do what I’ve set out to do … actually lose weight. Going into black ops mode has helped a bit—lost a few lbs and I’m happy. I’ll be back … hopefully happier healthier and more helpful to all my fitblr friends.

I need to recharge and reload. My diet has definitely fallen off.
— Consistent caloric intake (aka don’t go overboard on the weekend!) I was pretty mehh about this… I THINK I was consistent, but I didn’t track everyday. — — I —Organize run schedule and maintain it in my planner. Also track runs on runkeeper.com 50/50—I kept up with my running for the first two weeks of October then fell back to 3 runs a week for the last two weeks. Not too bad, but not what I planned for. — —SLEEP ENOUGH! sort of…I need to get better at this —Prep every evening for clinic or rotation the next day. DONE.NSANITY —stick to the workout schedule and work HARD. DONE—I did INSANITy 6 days a week for a month :-D —Enjoy myself! Be ready for homecoming/halloween at the end of the month!DONEMake time to read for enjoyment as much as possible. DONE—finished 2 of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books… :-DFit into favorite H&M skirt better and/or lose 2-3 lbs. DONE and DONE… I fit into the skirt after 2 weeks of INSANITY…technically I’ve lost 2 lbs, but since I had food poisoning yesterday…scale says im 5lbs lighter (Ohhh how I wish that were actually true haha). So I’ve reached MOST of my October Goals! yay!
